Mom, he has loved me for 3 days.

I am driving in the car today and Kylie is in the back talking about who in her class likes who and who has a crush (her new word she uses all the time) on who. So I said Kylie who do you like and she giggles and turns red. She says Luke. I said really, Luke. She then goes on to say that 3 days ago Luke told her on the bus he really loves her. She said to me, "Mom, he has loved me for 3 days, that is forever". It took all I had to not burst out laughing. My little 1st grader has a crush. I love the innocence of little kids (although, I must admit I am shocked about all the crushing going on in 1st grade). I hope she holds onto the simple innocence of her youth for a long time to come.
