Strawberry Picking

There is an organic farm not too far from our house where you can pick your own fruit and vegetables. I always loved strawberry picking as a kid, so I decided to take the kids this year. It was towards the end of the season, but we went one morning. It was about 100 degrees already and it was only 10am, but when you are a kid, you don't think about these things. The girls grabbed the biggest basket from the lady and ran to the strawberry fields. The girls have never been strawberry picking so at first they didn't know where the strawberries were. They realized they were under the leafs and than it was a race who could get the most. Kylie was winning because Karly was stopping to eat about every 2 that she picked. The thing I loved most about this day was how much fun they had finding the perfect strawberry and everyone was better than the next. After Kylie filled her basket, she helped Karly fill hers too. The baskets were too heavy and we had so many strawberries we could feed a city, it was still a great time. When we were leaving the farm was having an art program, so we decided to stay for that too and the girls ended up making pottery. Kylie made a beautiful plate for pizza, as usual taking her time to make every painstaking detail. Karly, just pounded and pulled away changing her mind so many times. It is funny how different they are in that respect. It was such a beautiful day!! I hope to make this an annual tradition with the girls.
